May 22 report for Fishing in Sooke

Fishing in Sooke this week continues to offer a variety of fun opportunities. The salmon fishing remains steady, with some 8-10 pound feeder springs and the occasional larger hatchery (fin clipped) spring salmon landed in the 20 pounds. The "slot limit" regulation has been extended indefinitely, meaning you can only keep unclipped wild salmon between 45 and 67 cm. See regulation excerpt below.

There are still reports of halibut being caught in local waters, mostly towards Jordan River.

Crabbing is reported to be excellent in Sooke harbour.

So...all in all, conditions are fair...not super hot fishing maybe, but definitely good enough to be worth getting out there.
