Sooke Fishing Report July 18

Great fishing in Sooke lately.   Lots of complaining from local anglers about too many coho and pinks stealing all the bait when targeting big chinook.  All in all, catching too many salmon is a good problem to have!  Head out into the deep water, put on some artificial gear (spoons, hootchies, baitrix, coho killer), and enjoy the action.  Try using no flasher or a smaller flasher and lighter gear, so you can feel the fish....turn off the motor, loosen the drag, let that fish swim a bit.....makes for a lot of fun.

For those chasing the big spring salmon, it can be a challenge to find them when the coho and pinks are in thick. But they are there.  Check out this fish of a lifetime .... 50.2 pounds caught at Sheringham.  Posted to by yo mama, addicted, and rambo.  Well done boys!
