Q: How's the fishing in Sooke?
A: I dunno, ask me in 5 minutes.

The fishing has been hot and cold, hit and miss. Seems like every day is different lately, or even down to every hour in every spot.  If you know where to be and when, or you are lucky, then here's certainly salmon to be caught.

The reports from the morning...great evening bite last night...both chinook (springs) and sockeye.  Maybe they have arrived and it will be gangbusters fishing for the of August!   Talk to me in 5 minutes ... ;-)

Here's a report from a few days ago from Curtis, www.fishwestcoastsportfishing.com
A little slow the past few days but there are still some nice ones to be had. Managed a couple locomotives on Friday morning at first light west of the Harbour mouth on anchovies. Also had a few hookups on Sockeye in 280' water just to the southwest of Sherringham Point, usual set up, pink hootchies (18" leaders), red hooks and a couple dummy flashers on the third rigger in and around 60 - 90 ft.
